Boxed package options have come under increasing scrutiny after a report from Reuters and The Washington Post revealed the company would bundle $150 packages with cable and wireless Internet service to make them available to the public.
A Comcast spokesperson confirmed that package delivery was a planned feature, and said it would likely be available as early as this week.
“Comcast’s internet package offers will offer customers a choice of packages that will make it easy to get the internet they need, whether they’re traveling or in a remote area,” Comcast spokesperson Jason Smith wrote in an email to TechCrunch.
“Comcast will continue to provide customers with a choice to get internet for free.”
Comcast did not specify what the Internet package would offer, but the company did state that the packages would be available in areas that currently have no options.
